Even people who don't like Disturbed have to admit that "Down With the Sickness" is a slapper of a song. The 2000 nu-metal single is an iconic piece of 21st century rock music, and so much of its appeal stems from David Draiman's eccentric vocal delivery, from the "oo-a-a-a-a" monkey noise in the hook to the emotional breakdown he has during the song's final third.
For that reason, "Down With the Sickness" is not a particularly easy song to cover, but singer Daria Zaritskaya recorded a version that was so powerful that even Draiman himself gave it his seal of approval.
In a video posted to TikTok, Zaritskaya can be seen utterly belting the nu-metal song with a husky, bluesier vocal cadence compared to Draiman's take. She has an impressive voice and manages to give the song a whole new flavor. "Awesome. Well done!" Draiman wrote in an Instagram post of him resharing the cover.
