As is their annual tradition, all five members of Avenged Sevenfold have shared their individual lists of favorite albums of the year. For 2022, one album even made all of the lists: Weezer's SZNZ: Autumn, one of the four LPs corresponding to each season that Rivers Cuomo and Co. released this past year. Another common favorite is Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which appears on the top-five lists of vocalist M. Shadows and guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance.
Bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman showed the most love for heavy music, with Megadeth, Ghost, Dead Cross and more topping their picks. But Shadows noted on Twitter that, while the albums didn't make his top five, he also enjoyed Slipknot, Rammstein, Ghost, NOFX, Disturbed, Megadeth and Polyphia's new records.
