Surely overshadowed by all the ongoing Slipknot news, today (June 8th) In Flames announced that they have parted ways with bass player Bryce Paul Newman, who'd been playing with the Swedish metal pioneers since 2018.
The band also revealed Newman's very able replacement: Liam Wilson, best known for his stomping four-string presence in the Dillinger Escape Plan. Wilson played his first show with In Flames last night at the Release Athens festival in Athens, Greece.
"Jesterheads, Our brother Bryce Paul has decided to step away from the band," In Flames said in their statement. "We wish him well on his future endeavors and thank him for everything he put into the band the last several years. Our friend Liam Wilson (The Dillinger Escape Plan) will be stepping in to help us out!"
"Amped to jump back in the saddle with @InFlames this summer," Wilson added, in his own post. "Absolute whirlwind but it all fell into place last night - thank you @release_athens."
