11-year-old metal vocalist HARPER broke the internet with her jaw-dropping cover of Spiritbox's "Holy Roller" two years ago at age 9, and then broke it again when she performed the song on America's Got Talent and also onstage with Spiritbox last year. Today (May 16th), the ascendant young singer has resurfaced with a new original single, titled "Weight of The World."
The metalcore rager was written by Leo Valeri, guitarist and producer of deathcore heavyweights Brand of Sacrifice, and features a vocal assist from We Came As Romans' Dave Stephens. But the star of the show is HARPER, of course, who showcases her mind-blowing gutturals.
"'Weight of the World' was written about the last few years of my life," HARPER commented. "I'm still so new to music, and I definitely felt there was a lot of pressure on my shoulders holding the flag for heavy music on such a commercial stage last year. It's also a very empowering song, and I really hope through my music a lot of kids my age can discover heavy music and also be inspired to make their own. It was so good to work with Leo and Dave on this song. I'm a big fan of both of their bands, so to have them be a part of this was really cool!"
