Order Duff McKagan's new solo album, Lighthouse, on exclusive, limited-edition color vinyl at Revolver's shop.
Duff McKagan is gearing up to release his third solo album, Lighthouse, next month, and today (September 13th), the Guns N' Roses bassist offered up the folky, elegiac new single "Longfeather."
Stream it above via the song's dramatic, black-and-white music video, directed by Connor Ellmann, Kuj Durollari and Arben Durollari.
"'Today is a good day to die' refers not to a macabre yearning for death," McKagan commented, "but rather a lust for life and the learned habits of a good and honest daily striving. Longfeather was protecting his home. He couldn't hold up ALL of the Western wave… but he did his everything to keep his family safe. O Longfeather is gone. And O, Longfeather is home. I see you. I see you. Thank you Longfeather for giving me hope and a solid place to stand."
The 11-track Lighthouse is a star-studded affair featuring guest turns by McKagan's GN'R bandmate Slash, Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell and the punk-rock legend himself Iggy Pop. It follows May's This Is the Song EP, which McKagan released in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The album is due out October 20th, and available for pre-order in an array of collectible formats, including an exclusive "emerald green" vinyl colorway limited to 300 copies worldwide. Order yours now.
