30 years after their critically acclaimed debut, Shame, and over a decade since their last release, Seattle rock outfit BRAD have returned with a new song, "In the Moment That You're Born," the droning, elegiac title track off their upcoming album. The single features haunting vocals from the late Shawn Smith, who died in 2019, and understatedly sludgy instrumentation by the band's surviving members: guitarist Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam), bassist Keith Lowe and drummer Regan Hagar (Malfunkshun, Satchel). Stream "In the Moment That You're Born" above via the song's psychedelic music video.
Smith's vocals appear on all of the impending album's 10 tracks, which include a new version of "Stars N' You," written by the late Seattle musician Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone, Malfunkshun). The song was originally recorded by Malfunkshun for the seminal 1986 grunge compilation Deep Six. In the Moment That You're Born is due out July 28th via Gossard and Hagar's label Loosegroove Records.
Available now are an array of 30th anniversary reissues of Shame, including colored vinyl and CD, as well as a new throwback BRAD T-shirt. Order yours at Revolver's shop.
