Last year, Slaughter to Prevail frontman Alex Terrible told Revolver that he was "tired of deathcore," and hinted that his band's next album would have a much different musical flavor with less breakdowns and traditional slamming parts.
Welp. Today (July 28th), Slaughter to Prevail have released their first single since that interview, titled "Viking," and this shit is deathcore as fuck.
The Florida-via-Russia demolition crew deliver plenty of nasty riffage, brutal breakdowns and bloodcurdling screams throughout its four-and-a-half-minute runtime. Terrible does the thing he does best — bellow like a demonic creature from the underworld — while alternating between Russian and English-language lyrics.
The accompanying video doesn't feature any Vikings, but it does contain plenty of shots from Slaughter to Prevail's wild live shows. Watch above via YouTube.
