Soul Glo are having a serious moment right now. Last year, the Philly punks dropped one of the best albums of the year, Diaspora Problems, and Revolver readers recently named them one of the five best hardcore bands going.
Over the weekend, the band kicked off a U.S. tour with "black powerviolence" rising stars Zulu, and today (September 5th), Soul Glo threw their fans a bone by dropping a seething new song called "If I Speak (Shut the Fuck Up)."
As opposed to some of the band's thrashy, tear-the-feathers-out-the-pillows songs, this one leans into the band's sludgier, more lurching side of their sound. Still, it's as gripping, furious and exciting as anything they've ever released.
