Following a number of teaser clips, Staind have released their latest single "Lowest in Me," the Massachusetts hit-makers' first new music since 2011's self-titled album. Fans of their heavier material will be heartened to hear it — "Lowest in Me" ain't no ballad, packing a pummeling main riff and building to a scathing nu-metal breakdown around the two-minute mark, while still working in plenty of the band's signature miserablist hooks. "Lowest in Me" is the lead single off Confessions of the Fallen, the group's just-announced new studio album. As reported by Billboard, the 10-track collection was produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Panic! at the Disco, Black Veil Brides) and is expected out this fall on Alchemy Recordings/BMG.
"Everybody has got people in their lives that don't bring out the good in somebody," singer Aaron Lewis told Billboard of the song. "Just with what's going on in the world right now, there's so many things, so many people that are like, 'You bring out the lowest in me.' There's a lot of factors out there that could fall under the 'you' category."
Before Confessions of the Fallen drops, Staind will embark on their big co-headlining tour with Godsmack, which is set to kick off July 18th in St. Louis, Missouri and wrap August 31st in Austin, Texas. See the full itinerary here.
