We're seriously in the middle of a real Limp Bizkit resurgence. Back in 2021, Fred Durst and Co. broke the internet with their Lollapalooza performance, and then dropped their first album in 10 years, Still Sucks, exciting old fans and winning over long-time skeptics. Since then, Limp Bizkit have rode the current nu-metal revival back into the top of the metal zeitgeist, and now their influence is spreading to other genres.
FIDLAR, the L.A. surf-punk band who were infamous in the early 2010s for scuzzy anthems like "40 Oz. On Repeat" and "Cheap Beer," have released a surprisingly faithful cover of "Nookie," Limp Bizkit's 1999 smash where Durst infamously croons, "I did it all for the nookie."
"Limp Bizkit changed my life and this song should be taught at Juilliard," FIDLAR frontman Zac Carpenter told Spin. Who knew?!
