One of the most visually and conceptually stunning bands in metal are Heilung, the Viking folk-metal group who hail from Norway and bring their "amplified history" rituals over to U.S. soil from time to time.
On October 27th, the group held one of their breathtaking performances at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the action on the stage was out of this world. From warrior dancers to horned singers and ceremonial smoke, Heilung brought the spirit of Odin to swamp country, and photographer The Tinfoil Biter was there to capture all the magic.
