Last Thursday (March 2nd), the 650-capacity Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York, hosted an exclusive, intimate Deftones show celebrating the alt-metal trailblazers' collaborative spring capsule collection with Heaven by Marc Jacobs and streetwear brand Stray Rats. The event was free to attend, but tickets didn't guarantee entry due to the small size of the venue, and Deftones fans and fashion VIPs alike waited out in the cold in long lines down the block, eager for the doors to open at 9 p.m.
Once inside, attendees drank, mingled, showed off their best looks and generally made merry for two hours of DJ sets by Mia Carucci and Yves Tumor before Deftones finally took the stage at 11. Vocalist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Capenter, drummer Abe Cunningham, keyboardist-turntablist Frank Delgado and the band's current touring bassist, Fred Sablan, tore through a 17-song set packed with both classic live staples and fan-favorite rarities — among them, White Pony's "Feiticeira," which hadn't been played since 2018, and Around the Fur's "Mascara," which hadn't been played since 2015. Needless to say, the crowd went nuts, singing along, dancing, moshing and headbanging.
Photographers Travis Bass (party photos) and Travis Schneider (live Deftones photos) were on hand to catch all the action, both onstage and off. See some of their standout shots below.
