Sepultura's December 18th set at Knotfest Brazil was a goddamn party. During the São Paulo edition of the festival, the Brazilian metal vets invited numerous metal stars to join them onstage throughout the night. Pantera's Philip Anselmo came out and hollered along to "Arise," Anthrax's Scott Ian ripped guitar parts on "Cut-Throat," and Trivium main-main Matt Heafy sang and shredded during "Slave New World."
These bigwig guest appearances came just a week after Sepultura's Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green joined Mr. Bungle at Knotfest Chile for a cover of "Territory" — which was followed up the next day when Sepultura had Anselmo join them for "Arise."
The spirit of collaboration has been in the air, and clearly, South American Knotfest attendees have been stoked on it. See fan-shot footage of Sepultura playing with Anselmo, Ian and Heafy above and below via YouTube.
