Tenacious D have dropped one for the gamers. The hard-rock comedy duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass have released a new song called "Video Games," their first piece of totally original (as in not a cover song) material in four whole years.
With references to God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 4, the song begins with the guys claiming that they don't play video games all that often, and eventually ceding that, actually, they're addicted to the fuckin' things.
In classic D form, the duo have paired the hysterical tune with a colorful and kooky music video that was directed by Adam Paloian and Chris "Oney" O'Neill. Watch above via YouTube.
Tenacious D have trickled out a few cover songs over the last few years — "Time Warp" (Rocky Horror Picture Show), a Beatles medley.and a Who medley. Their last original song was 2019's "Don't Blow It, Kage" with Jack White, and their last full-length album was 2018's Post-Apocalypto.
