Over the weekend, Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci hosted the fourth edition of his annual Guitar Universe convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the prog wizard was joined by a very special guest during one of the retreat's performances.
For the first time ever, Black Label Society/Pantera axman Zakk Wylde joined Petrucci onstage so the two guitar gods could shred together like nobody's business.
The pair linked up during a performance of the Black Label Society classic "Suicide Messiah," which of course featured a stunning duel-solo in the middle where Wylde and Petrucci took turns ripping the bluesy chord progression to pieces.
For heshers with a taste for the shreddier side of metal, this collaboration was a dream come true. Check out footage above via YouTube.
