Seraina Telli may have left Swiss metal band Burning Witches earlier this year, but her dedication to metal remains strong. In a new fan (or parent) filmed video, the singer can be seen leading a classroom full of schoolchildren in song while they cover Judas Priest's "Leather Rebel" and Dio's classic "Holy Diver."
The children, appearing to be of mixed age, pull off a great impression of Priest frontman Rob Halford's piercing falsetto at the peak of the 1990 track's intensity. Two of the tiny participants get very into the action and dance their way through the last few lines while parents are heard giggling a bit in the background.
After a quick talk from Telli, she starts to strum the first few chords of Dio's 1983 epic and the kids have a blast ripping through a toned-down version of the raucous track. The rest of the recital takes a more traditional turn with the heavy metal teacher taking over the piano, but the children's spirits remain lively throughout. If only all teachers had such a enthusiastic and inclusive approach to music education!
