Pick up Metallica vinyl, merch, magazines and more over at Revolver's shop
Suicidal Tendencies held a family reunion the other night — in more ways than one. The Venice Beach crossover titans were called on short notice to open for Metallica this past Saturday (September 9th), and as diehard fans would've hoped, former Suicidal Tendencies bassist — and current 'Tallica bassist — Robert Trujillo hopped up onstage to join his old bandmates.
Trujillo was up there strumming along while the band ripped through "I Saw Your Mommy," a classic cut from their 1983 self-titled debut.
But the guest spot was special for a whole other reason. Robert got to play with his son, Tye Trujillo, who's been holding down bass duties in ST since 2021 — outside of his own band, Ottto.
The father-son vibes were strong, and the crowd got a kick out of papa Trujillo climbing up to jam with his old band. Watch the special family affair go down above via YouTube.
