Otep just kicked the band's first tour since 2019, and today (May 11th), the nu-metal veterans, fronted by the outspoken Otep Shamaya, has offered up their first new music in five years: a heavy cover of Billie Eilish's 2018 single "You Should See Me in a Crown." Blast it above via YouTube.
Shamaya commented: "To me, the song is a warning against cultural reduction, biased underestimation and the volatile anti-Newtonian reaction of judging someone before you know their true power."
Otep's current "Sermons of Fire" tour celebrates the band's debut album, Sevas Tra, which turned 20 in 2022, and their sixth, Hydra, which turned 10 in January. The group has reportedly finished a new full-length, with plans to release it later this year.
